A country heart.
A little extra sparkle.
If you come to our house on a Sunday, you’ll probably hear the music before the doorbell. Mom, Lucía, sings while she cooks. Dad, Carlos, says he’s just passing through the kitchen, then stays for one more song. That’s where my favorite family memories begin.
I’m the girl who will help the little cousins line up for a picture, then pull everyone onto the dance floor. I love the quiet of a ranch afternoon, the shine of a beautiful crown, and a playlist that can go from a traditional waltz to reggaeton without losing anyone along the way.
For my quinceañera, I imagined both sides of me together: open Las Vegas skies, pink flowers, a gown that catches the light, and people who have loved me through every chapter. June 26 is about turning fifteen, but it’s also about saying thank you.
Mom is keeping every ribbon and little detail. Dad is practicing our dance, even when he pretends he doesn’t need to. I’m counting down to hearing everyone sing the Usher and Backstreet Boys favorites, laughing through our rehearsals, and making one more memory with you.
Con mucho cariño, Arleyn
