Is Your Website Losing Customers? Check These 7 Things.
A practical mobile-first check of your message, contact options, proof, forms, speed, business details, and follow-up.
1. Can a visitor understand your offer?
Open your website on your phone. Before scrolling, can you tell what the business does, who it helps, and where it operates? A clear headline such as “Concrete patios and driveways in Las Vegas” gives a customer a starting point. A slogan may need a specific explanation beside it.
2. Is the next step easy?
Choose the action that matters most: call, message, request a quote, or book. Make the main button easy to find and tap. Test it yourself. A customer should not have to search through several pages to discover how to reach you.
3. Is there useful proof?
Show real work, useful project descriptions, and customer feedback you have permission to share. A contractor can show a completed job and explain the work performed. A salon can show actual services and the booking process. Avoid presenting sample designs as real customers or inventing reviews.
4. Can someone finish the form?
Submit a test inquiry from your phone and check that it arrives. Ask only for the information you need to respond. If a logo or reference file can be sent later, say so. Make errors understandable and show a clear confirmation after submission.
5. Does the page load comfortably?
Try the site on a normal mobile connection. Look for oversized images, video that blocks the page, unreadable text, or buttons that shift as content loads. PageSpeed Insights can help identify performance issues. Use the results to investigate; do not treat a score as a promise of sales.
6. Are the business details current?
Check phone numbers, hours, service areas, prices you publish, and links. Make sure English and Spanish pages describe the same offer accurately. An old phone number or unclear package can create confusion even when the design looks polished.
7. What happens after the inquiry?
Decide who checks incoming messages and when they respond. Give customers a realistic expectation. Track inquiries and completed bookings or sales together so you can see where the process needs work.
